Create Inventory Reports
The Inventory Reporting Menu provides a number of ways to retrieve data from
the system.
Lists of Units
Choose the scope of units included in the report by clicking one of the Report
Type selections:
Current Warehouse Inventory
Installed at Subscriber Locations
Checked out to Employees
Picked Up and Defective
Returned to Client
Lost and Written Off
All Units on Record
Reports are sorted in serial number order by default. If you would like a
different sort order, select from the drop-down menus. You may specify up
to 4 levels of sorting using the following data fields:
Serial Number (default)
Equipment Type
Model
Employee
Warehouse Location
Subscriber
Client
Client Lot Number
Note that units are never deleted from the database. A unit may have been
returned to the client, but you can always look up information about it. The
same unit may be received from and returned to the client several times; as far
as Cable Box Tracker is concerned, it is always the same unit (although with
a long history). Truly erroneous inventory records are flagged as Void and will no longer
appear on inventory reports. If for some reason you need information about
a void unit, mark the Include Void Records checkbox.
Look Up Single Unit
Simply enter the Serial Number of the unit you want to find. Cable Box Tracker
will display a report with the complete history:
Reconcile Uploaded List
With this feature you can upload a file with a list of serial numbers; Cable
Box Tracker will create a report listing the current status and last recorded
transaction for each unit. Units on the finished report are sorted in the same
order as the original list. This capability can be very helpful in responding
to lists of serial numbers provided by clients as part of their regular audit
procedure.
The list should be a plain text file with one serial number per line. If the
client provides a spreadsheet (Excel, for example) you can make a copy and save
it as a text file, removing all columns except for the serial number.
Download Backup Data
Note: As of this writing, performance of this feature is painfully slow
and is not recommended. We are working on improving performance. All data
is backed up automatically daily within the Cable Box Tracker system.
This function delivers a backup copy of your inventory in standard comma-delimited
text format.
