Introduction

Cable Box Tracker is an on-line system designed specifically for installation service companies to keep track of equipment they handle for their cable system clients. The system maintains a database with the current status and complete history for every piece of equipment. A barcode scanner provides extremely fast and highly accurate entry of equipment identification numbers using the manufacturer's serial number or MAC address printed on the equipment label.

Sign On to the System
Use of Cable Box Tracker is restricted to users with a valid User ID and Password. All communications between the user's computer and the host system are handled through a secure encrypted link.

Access Features through the Main Menu
The Main Menu is the central point from which all features of Cable Box Tracker are available.

Receive Equipment from Clients
Equipment received from cable system clients is recorded in the system.

Check Out Equipment to Technicians
Units are checked out to technicians at the start of each shift; a printed Equipment Control Sheet provides an authoritative list. At the end of the shift technicians check in with unused or defective units, units picked up from subscribers, and subscriber account numbers for installed units.

Return Equipment to Clients
Unused, defective, and picked-up units are periodically returned to clients.

Create Inventory Reports
A variety of inventory reports provide a clear and complete picture of inventory. For example, starting with a list of serial numbers provided by the client, Cable Box Tracker can create a complete and detailed audit reconciliation report in seconds.

Customize the System
Several screens permit customization of key information: general company information, employees, clients, and system users. These screens are available to Company Administrators, not regular Users.
