Clients



This screen lists clients (cable companies) from whom you receive equipment and for whom you perform installation services. Use the 'Click here to add new client' link to create a new record, or click the Company in the left column of the list to edit an existing client.

You may create as many clients as needed. In general you will want to create a separate client record for each cable system that you service. For example, the giant Acme Cable Company may operate several separate systems in your area, and the equipment for each system must be accounted for separately. In this case it would be helpful to create separate "Acme Central Region" and "Acme Northern Region" clients, for example.



The Record Number is a system-assigned identifier and it cannot be changed. The company name will appear on inventory reports and posting records. The company address and other contact information are used to provide information on various Cable Box Tracker screens and reports.

The Equipment ID Preferred section lets you specify what type of identifier should be used for each type of equipment handled for this client. Equipment will generally be marked by the manufacturer with a barcode label containing a Serial Number, a MAC Address, or both. As each unit is scanned, the system checks the scanned number to see if it is the type of number preferred for that type of equipment. If not, an alert message will appear.

When you are done, click Save to record the data or Cancel to discard any changes.
